Diamond Records Number Song titles Remarks

Diamond A-101 You Know I Love You / Rock & Roll Baby

Most likely the first single ever produced by Diamond Records. Bobby Wheeler and his B. Bops. Released in January 1960 with Johnny Winter on Guitar and Edgar Winter on Sax. "You Know I Love You" is a "Doo-Wop" ballad and "Rock and Roll Baby" is a rocker, Johnny and Edgar perform on both songs. Very rare record Jan 1960

Diamond # 102 Thinking of You / Should I Stay or G Bobby Wheeler with Johnny Winter on Guitar, Jan 1960

Diamond 201 Don't Cry on my Shoulder / Earnie's SPecial Diamond Jim with the Coastaleers Combo is also extremely rare. Johnny plays on Don't Cry On My Shoulder and sings harmony with Bobby Mizzell, Diamond Jim Wheeler, and Bobby Wheeler. The flip is an instrumental, with Johnny on rhythm guitar, although almost un-noticable in the recording, Mar 1960

Diamond / JIM 202 The Jokes on You / Stay Out of my Dreams Diamond Jim 45rpm7" Single with the Coastaleers Combo featuring Steve Young. Most likely with both Edgar and Johnny Winter

Long Lonely Nights / Coffee Pot / Carl Caper

Johnny WInter's Band: Coastaleers . Very rare single as both sides never appeared on any of his CDs. It is the most Doo-Wop release Johnny ever did! Side 2 seems to be a tribute to Carl Perkins, and features Johnny playing in a very unique style very definitely Johnny. It is an instrumental.

Long Lonely Nigths with Coffee Pot as B-side is the 1st release.

Diamond 207 / DR-013 / DR-014 Baby Please Don't Go / Midnight Walk The Ray and The Royals (aka Ray Solis)is a rare Diamond Jim release that areI have two versions of. Johnny definitely plays on these, Edgar as well. It was common practice in Texas to release the same 45 under different names, titles, and labels to hopefully get noticed by a DJ.

Diamond 715 / SN-1483 / SN-1484 Opelousa Soul Man / Party Timers Express

Party Timers: unsure whether Johnny Winter really performed on Party Timers 45 on Diamond Jim (Port Arthur). Roy Ames stated on a CD release that Johnny recorded with them, but because of the playing style, it is difficult to be positive if this is Johnny or not. It is certainly a good guitarist, the playing is fast and right on the money but with no licks that would later become a signature or tell tale.

This is NOT Johnny Wintersthe guitar players name is Homer Simon
